I regularly go to Artlab at UCLAN, Preston, where Lancashire based artists have access to the print department. In autumn 2006 I was asked to give two workshops to Artlab; one about my bookmaking, and the second one to teach a few simple bookmaking techniques, which led to an exhibition of books made by Artlab members.

I found it a very rewarding experience, in many ways. One of the unexpected spin-offs, was that Irealised that the single-sheet fold book could be very easily used in conjunction with traditional print methods, though previously I had used digital techniques.

Hence the 'Tidal Pools', part of my body of work based on the local coast. The collagraph board was the same size as the paper. I inked up, then placed a papermask with 8 circular holes in it on top.
