I don't often make altered books. This one was an act of revenge. When new city councillors are elected in Lancaster, a certain outside body gives each councillor a book which is to give them moral guidance, assuming apparently that we have no morals to begin with, which is insulting. Most other councillors got rid of their book - I decided to make it unreadable.

I chose to make irregular folds to see how that would work. I now know you need to do a lot of pre-planning and measuring, and I have enormous respect for the book artists to alter books in this way
