In reality this self portrait is larger than life size, made during a
week's workshop at Laurieston Hall. I used the self-portrait as the starting
point for a series of poems about various body parts, and experiences
that related to them. As the image for each body part was a fragment of
the greater picture I decided to incorporate that in the book design -
so they are printed onto handmade paper and torn to shape before being
stuck on the page. The poems were treated in the same way.
