As I am in
the process of changing the emphasis of my practice, toward using more
traditional methods, I have separated my book list into two, though there
are also complete book lists by year of publication under books produced
on computer. Please follow the links below.

I began making books in 2001, and found at once that this was the right medium for me, bringing my skills and interests together. The book form allows me to explore many themes, ranging from the personal and social to the ecological, from dream and myth to journeys through the landscape. I love combining the magic of words with the immediacy and tangibility of pictures, in the unfolding series of pages, which is the nature of books. My work is inspired by the natural world and by my spiritual relationship and emotional connection with it. Much of my work with a mythological or spiritual theme, begins as an illustration for William Morris' Moonwise Calendar, such as my series of lino and collograph prints on the theme of trees in religious myth. Although the illustrations may be created in a variety of media - photos, prints, drawings, collages - and the words may range from original poems and stories to found words - the books are integrated by the interplay between words, illustrations and structure. With recent access to the print rooms at UCLAN, I have returned to printmaking, particularly to collographs and to screen printing. I am mainly self-taught, although I have attended short courses in print-making, book-making, computer graphics and calligraphy. Some of my books are on sale at PAD Shop and Gallery, 52 Church Road, Preston Exhibitions
